I’m unhappy to report that MR DARCY (AKA “the baby”) took a nasty fall from my dresser and has broken his arm! Terrible. Now he’s limping around aimlessly. The poor cat needed surgery to fix the break! Stay tuned for updates as I delve into the world of veterinary care.

I finally uncapped “Pete’s first ale” and its great. I was surprised how easy it was to make something that is actually FUN to drink. I’m going to tinker with that recipe and attempt to perfect it. Till then, I have my first lager fermenting at 46 degrees in my wine refridgerator; and a Coopers kit IPA that is busily bubbling in the kitchen. Next up are some kits from Northern Brewer…

Some of you heard my rant about the local Game Stop - I got there at 8:58 and was turned away by an employee who had already shut down. We had rushed to get there and they lost out on our business as well as another person they turned away. So I sent a nasty (but civil) gram to their CEO, and I actually got a response:

It’s cool that they responded (and thanks for the 30 bucks), but they have to work on making their adolescent workforce understand what good customer service is. But, I was impressed to have gotten an answer. Way to go, Game Stop…!

The Beer is still fermenting, but its slowed down. The first hydrometer reading was 1.02. But, I realized with the sample I took out, there are tons of sediment in there. So I’m off to the homebrew store to get a secondary fermenter…
I will say - the color is awesome and the smell is even better…. Stay tuned!
