Insomnia & Homebrew!
I woke up at 3am today due to jetlag. I had 13 hours of sleep yesterday but last night, forget it. I was up all night. I’m staying tired all day today w/o a nap in order to get back to normal.
So, what better to do at 3am then to order some new brew supplies.. here is what I have in queue for the next few months:
- Bavarian Helles
- Raspberry Wheat Beer
- California Common (Steam beer)
- Patersbier – Belgian style ale
I’m still drinking my first ale and my Coopers IPA. Right now, actually. I finally bottled my first Lager right before leaving last week, I think it’ll be a week or two until it’s ready. And let me tell you, it smelled great and tasted pretty good too. Also, I’ll be bottling the Kolsch tomorrow!
I put in an order for a yeast starter kit. I heard that my problems with the lag time on the lager was due to the yeast taking too long to activate. So as soon as I get my starter kit I’ll brew up the Helles. I should have a good set of batches for the summer when all is said and done!
Oh, and my new goal (if I nail the lager) is to keg. So, looks like some money to be spent shortly!
